The essence of Brazil Salvador of Bahia

and the Afro-Brazilian culture

Salvador de Bahia is best discovered slowly – from the clear light of day to the golden calm of sunset. Our journey begins in Pelourinho, the heart of the colonial city, where pastel façades, cobbled streets and the rhythm of drums lead us through a labyrinth of colours, faith and ancient Africa. This place does not tell its stories directly – it whispers them from balconies, walls and squares where time itself seems to dance.

We then step inside the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos – a sanctuary of memory, prayer and remarkable spirituality. At Palácio Rio Branco, we pause for a moment to view Salvador from the perspective of old palaces, the ocean and a city suspended between the past and the present.

During the day, we take a break in one of the local restaurants to taste the flavours of Bahia – aromatic moqueca, crisp acarajé and dishes in which the sea meets the spices of Africa. Afterwards, we continue to the famous Church of Senhor do Bonfim, where colourful ribbons whisper the wishes of thousands of pilgrims.

Finally, we arrive at Solar do Unhão. As the sun slowly sinks into the bay, Salvador reveals its most beautiful face – soft, golden and full of mystery.
